Running of the Turkeys - West Deptford
The West Deptford Running of the Turkeys takes place on Thanksgiving morning, 11/26/2026, at RiverWinds Community Center in West Deptford, NJ. The event includes a chip timed 5K race and a separate 2 mile walk.

- 5K Turkey Trot Race
- 2 Miles Wobble Walk
Registration opens in August for the walk and in September for the 5K; fees listed are $15 for the walk and $20 for the 5K. Organizers ask that participants pre-register by the evening before the event. Race bibs and optional shirts are available for pickup the evening before the race and on race morning at RiverWinds Community Center.
Award medals for first, second, and third place male and female overall and in age groups will be given to 5K finishers after the race. Age groups include 13 & under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Optional long-sleeve shirts are available for purchase until Thursday, November 19; shirts will not be sold on race day and must be claimed in person.
The event is held rain or shine. Organizers will collect non-perishable food items for the Greater Woodbury Cooperative Ministries Food Bank. There is plenty of parking at RiverWinds Community Center. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
