Philadelphia Marathon Weekend
Philadelphia Marathon Weekend takes place November 20 to 22, 2026 in Philadelphia. The event includes multiple races that run through the city, past historic landmarks, through urban neighborhoods, and along waterfronts and parkland. Courses highlight Fairmount Park, the Schuylkill River, Benjamin Franklin Parkway, University City, Manayunk, Old City, and Center City, with the marathon finishing near the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Nemours Children’s Health Philadelphia Kid’s Run is held at Eakins Oval adjacent to the museum.
All courses are USATF certified and the full Philadelphia Marathon is a Boston qualifier. The weekend program includes these distances and challenge combinations:
- 26.2 miles Philadelphia Marathon
- 13.1 miles Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon
- 4.97 miles Rothman Orthopaedics 8K
- Kid’s Run short distance, non competitive
- Multi race Challenges: Patriot Challenge, Independence Challenge, Liberty Bell Challenge, Freedom Challenge
For 2026 the full marathon and the Independence, Liberty Bell and Freedom Challenges are sold out. The Patriot Challenge, the half marathon, the 8K and the Kid’s Run have registration open. A waitlist is available for the full marathon and guaranteed entry may be available through official charity partners. The organizers state that bib transfers between individuals are not allowed and that only listed official charities may distribute marathon bibs.
