Notable sections include the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and the Museum District, Old City, Center City, University City, Manayunk, Fairmount Park and the Schuylkill River. The half marathon and marathon finish in the vicinity of the Philadelphia Museum of Art; the Rothman Orthopaedics 8K follows the Schuylkill River and Kelly Drive. The Philadelphia Kid’s Run is a short, non-competitive event held at Eakins Oval adjacent to the museum.
The event is in its 32nd year, first held in 1994, and has grown from about 1,500 participants to a much larger multi-race weekend. An expo, training activities and an official event app are part of the weekend program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
