About the race
The Philadelphia Marathon Weekend takes place November 20–22, 2026 in Philadelphia and includes multiple distance events held on USATF sanctioned and course-certified routes. The weekend features:
- TIAA Philadelphia Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Rothman Orthopaedics 8K (4.97 miles)
- Philadelphia Kid’s Run (short, noncompetitive youth distance)
The marathon course is a World Athletics Label Road Race and a Boston Marathon qualifier. Courses pass Fairmount Park, the Schuylkill River, University City, Manayunk, and finish near the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The event reports over 30,000 athletes on race weekend and has been staged since 1994.
On-course support for the marathon includes checkpoint timing at multiple marks, fluid stations, and spectator overlooks. Pace groups are offered to help runners target finish times. The adaptive program permits push-rim wheelchairs and allows one registered support or guide athlete under specified rules; handcrank bikes are not permitted. Prize money and awards are designated for top finishers in Open and Professional divisions across gender categories, and age group awards are determined by chip time.
For 2026 some events and challenges are sold out while registration remains open for others; a VIP hospitality package with private tent, restrooms, and food was available for the weekend with Sunday VIP now sold out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
