Running of the Turkeys - Arlington
Running of the Turkeys is an annual Thanksgiving morning race held at Fisher Elementary School in Arlington, Vermont. The event is now into its 30th year and the 2026 race date is listed as November 26, 2026. Proceeds support the BKVR Scholarship Fund and additional donations to the fund are welcome.

Registration is offered online and via a paper registration form. In-person registration is available during packet pick-up on the evening before the race and on race day, though day-of registration closes before the race. Onsite registration prefers check or cash; participants who register online should bring proof of payment and a completed registration form.
Entry fee examples published for earlier entry periods include $30 and $40 options, BKVR member rates, family pricing, and a nominal fee for the Kids Fun Run. BKVR membership new or renewal at entry may qualify for a member rate.
Event notes and participant guidelines include a strong discouragement of dogs, strollers, and headphones due to RRCA requirements. Strollers must start at the back of the pack. There is a brief wait before runners with dogs are allowed to run; dogs must be on a short 4 foot lead. Turkey "bling" is provided to the first 200 entrants in the 5K run and walk.
