The 2025 Running of the Turkeys takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Arlington, Vermont. This is the 30th anniversary of the event. It is held at Fisher Elementary School, 504 East Arlington Road, Arlington, VT 05250. Event distances and types:
- 5K road race
- 5K walk
- 1K Kids Fun Run
Course, registration and awards
The course is described as a scenic southwestern Vermont route with one or more hills. Walkers are welcome; awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to age-group winners. Age groups are in 10-year bands, with 60 and above in 5-year bands.
Pre-race packet pick-up is available the day before the race at the school. Race-day registration is offered. Online fees listed include $30 for the 5K, $20 for Battenkill Valley Runners members in the 5K, and $1 for the Kids Fun Run. Prices increase after November 14, 2025. A family entry option is available for up to four people for $90. Commemorative short-sleeve t-shirts are guaranteed to the first 200 entrants in the 5K registered by November 1; a long-sleeve technical shirt may be pre-ordered for an additional $15.
