About the race
This event takes place on November 26, 2026, in Arlington, Vermont, at Fisher Elementary School, 504 East Arlington Road, 05250. It is a traditional Thanksgiving morning running event with a 5K and a kids run.

The course runs through southwestern Vermont and includes one or more hills. Walkers are welcome. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to winners in these age groups: Under 10, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.
Registration and fees vary by entry type. General 5K registration opens September 4, 2026, and closes November 13, 2026, with a fee of $30. A Battenkill Valley Runners member 5K entry opens September 7, 2026, and closes November 13, 2026, with a fee of $20. Kids Fun Run registration opens September 4, 2026, and closes November 24, 2026, with a fee of $1. Pre-race packet pick-up is scheduled at the school on November 25; race day registration is available at the event.
The first 200 entrants in the 5K run and walk receive turkey-themed finisher items. Organizers run a social media photo contest on the event Facebook page for vintage turkey swag. All proceeds go to the BKVR Scholarship Fund and additional donations are welcome. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
