Running of the Squares Brownwood
Running of the Squares Brownwood is a community 5K event held in The Villages, Florida, on West Torch Lake Drive. The event is part of The Villages 2026-27 Running of the Square series and is presented as a fun run covering 5K (3.1 miles).
Pre-registration is offered at $25 through October 11, with registration after that date and through race day at $40. The fee includes a t-shirt and a registration packet; t-shirts are available while supplies last. The first 1,400 registrations receive a custom Brownwood 5K race bib.
Packet pick up is available the day before the event at La Hacienda Regional Center and on race morning at the race site next to the finish area by West Torch Lake Drive and Brownwood Boulevard. A friend or family member may pick up a packet on a participant's behalf.
Course safety rules prohibit in-line skates, bounce boots, skateboards, and dogs on leashes. Participants pushing a baby jogger or stroller must start at the back of the starting area and assume responsibility for safety. Participants who remain on the course beyond a set timeframe may be asked to move to the sidewalk so local roads can be reopened.
All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Awards include 1st place overall times for men and women, age-group awards from 14 and under in five-year increments through 90+, and team awards for first through third place. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
