Running for Success 5K Run/Walk
Running for Success is a 5K run/walk held on the Shore Road Promenade at Bay Parkway in Brooklyn, New York. The event location is listed as Promenade Bay Parkway, 8973 Bay Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11214. Registration is not yet open; the organizer indicates it will open ahead of the event date.
All registered participants receive an authentic Dri-Fit running shirt and a ticket for a free slice of pizza at Pizza D’Amore. I.S. 223 water bottles are provided to the first 50 registrants. Crunch Fitness leads a pre-race warmup. Registered participants may receive a personalized bib if they register three weeks in advance.
Awards are given to the top overall finishers and to age-group finishers. Categories include Top 1 M/F/X overall and Top 3 M/F in the age groups 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
Proceeds support I.S. 223 by helping send its runners to a weeklong sleepaway running camp in Swan Lake, NY in August.
The course follows the Shore Road Promenade at Bay Parkway and loops back at the halfway mark. Directions listed include driving via Belt Parkway/Leif Ericson Drive/Shore Parkway to Bay Parkway, the D train to Bay Parkway, or the B64 bus to Bath Avenue and Bay Parkway. Live online, email, and text results are provided, along with free finish line photos and same-day finish line video. A bib lookup option is available and registrants who register within 24 hours of bib pickup can receive their bib number by text quickly.
