About the race
The Running for Success 5K Run/Walk is a community road event held along the Shore Road Promenade in Brooklyn. The course begins at Bay Parkway on the promenade and returns by looping back at the halfway mark. The event address is Promenade Bay Parkway, 8973 Bay Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11214. Amenities listed for the event include an authentic Dri-Fit running shirt for all participants, a ticket for a free slice of pizza after the race, I.S.
223 water bottles for the first 50 registrants, a pre-race warmup led by Crunch Fitness, live online and text and email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for registrations completed at least three weeks in advance. Awards are given to the top overall male, female, and nonbinary finishers and to the top three finishers in male and female age groups: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Proceeds will help send I.S. 223 runners to a weeklong sleepaway running camp in Swan Lake, NY. Directions note access options: by car via local parkways and Exit 5 to Bay Parkway, by subway via the D train to Bay Parkway, and by bus via the B64 to Bath Avenue and Bay Parkway. Participants must know their bib number to pick up a bib; a self-lookup area and rapid text delivery of bib numbers for recent registrants are available.
