What & When
The Spooky Challenge Day 1 is an 8-hour timed running and walking event. It will take place on Saturday, 31 October 2026. A "Turn Up Get Going" (TUGG) system is used, allowing participants to start at any time between 07:30 and 14:30. All participants must be finished by 15:30.
Course Details
The event takes place on an old, disused train line, described as a scenic route. The course is a 5.3 km out-and-back lap, with the terrain noted as undulating and a mix of off-road and paved surfaces. Participants can complete as many laps as they wish within the 8-hour window; finishing 1, 4, or 14 laps all counts as a completion. Those who finish receive an event medal.
Participation
The event is open to runners and walkers of all ability levels. The maximum number of entrants is 70, and the minimum age for participants is 18 years. Entry closes on 29 October 2026. Several entry options are available, including affiliated and unattached runner tiers, with a lower-cost "No Perks" option that does not include a medal.
