Runnin' with the Law
The Runnin' with the Law Race Series returns for its eighth annual edition in Essexville, Michigan. Organized by the Bay City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 103, the event takes place at Finn Road Park and Campground. The courses lead participants through the nature trail of Hampton Township, offering a scenic environment for both runners and walkers.
The event features a variety of distances themed after law enforcement activities:
- 9.11 mile Hero Run
- 5 mile Felony Apprehension Run
- 5K Foot Pursuit Run
- 5K Jaywalking Walk
- 1/4 mile Police Academy Run/Walk (for ages 10 and under)
Law enforcement personnel are welcome to participate in uniform if they wish. Following the races, a Public Safety Showcase is held at the park, allowing participants to meet with local law enforcement and event sponsors. Attendees can also access the Finn Road Park boat launch and campground facilities.
Pre-registered participants receive a T-shirt and a finisher medal. Refreshments and snacks are provided at the venue after the event. For those unable to attend in person, virtual options are available for the 9.11 mile, 5 mile, and 5K distances, allowing runners to complete their miles at any location during the week leading up to the race.
