Event overview
Runnin' for Rescues is an annual running event in Boaz, Alabama, organized by the Boaz Parks and Recreation Department. The event supports Second Chance Shelter, a non-profit no-kill dog shelter that houses and cares for over 250 dogs at a time. The event is presented by Peoples Independent Bank as a sponsor. The course is certified and has water stations along the route. Finisher medals are distributed at the finish line. Awards are given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group for male and female divisions. Age groups are: 12 and under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and over. Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Huntsville and at the Boaz Parks & Recreation Center (400 Elizabeth Street); race day packet pickup is at the Old Boaz Rec Center (314 N. King Street).
