Event overview

Runnin' for Rescues 5K/10K is a community road race in Boaz, Alabama, organized by the Boaz Parks and Recreation Department. The course begins and ends at the Old Boaz Recreation Center, 314 N. King Street, Boaz, AL 35957. The event supports Second Chance Shelter, a non-profit no-kill dog shelter. Peoples Independent Bank is listed as the event's Diamond Sponsor. Entry fees are listed as $35 for the 5K and 10K, and $30 for the Sleep In option. The 5K and 10K events are open to ages 5 to 99. Age groups for awards are: 12 & under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 & over. Finisher medals are given at the finish line, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each age group (male and female) receive prizes at the awards ceremony.

Packet pick-up locations include Fleet Feet Huntsville, the Boaz Parks & Recreation Center at 400 Elizabeth Street, and race-day pickup at the Old Boaz Rec Center.
