Runner's Den 30th Anniversary Celebration
The Runner's Den 30th Anniversary Celebration is a running event established to commemorate three decades of serving the Hamilton community. The event takes place at the Hamilton Waterfront, centered at the Leander Boat Club located at 50 Leander Drive.
The primary format is a 30 km relay event. Participants complete a total distance of 30 km through a series of loops. Teams may consist of anywhere from one to six participants, depending on individual preference. Each team member runs a 5 km loop that starts and finishes at the Leander Boat Club. Upon completing a loop, runners pass a baton of their choice to the next team member. The event concludes when a team finishes all six loops.
Available distances:
- 30 km Relay (6 x 5 km loops)
Following the completion of the relay, an awards ceremony and celebration take place. Recognition is given to the first, second, and third-place teams based on chip time, as well as the top Masters team, which is defined by a combined age of 220 years or greater. Additional awards are presented for categories such as best dressed, most creative baton, best team name, most colorful crew, and the oldest piece of Runner's Den apparel. Participants are advised to park on Guise Street where available, as the parking lot at the boat club is not open for event participants.
