Event details
The Boxing Day Runs in Hamilton, Ontario is holding its 102nd running on December 26, 2025. The event offers two distances:
- 10-mile run
- 4-mile run / walk
The course runs through downtown streets and along a paved waterfront trail, and it includes about five miles of waterfront trail. The start and finish lines are together on Hughson Street near King Street, a few blocks from the downtown YMCA.
Race day facilities and organisation
The race hub is indoors in the YMCA Main Gymnasium and includes bib and race-wear pickup, post-race refreshments and awards, change rooms with showers, and space for spectators. All entrants receive a pair of mitts. The event is organised by volunteers from the Hamilton Harriers Running and Walking Club. Race wear is supplied by Niko Apparel and timing is provided by Chiptime Results. The run donates $5,000 annually to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Online registration closes on December 24. Race day registration is available for a higher fee; the listed entry fee for each distance is $74.58. Athletes who receive support from Athletics Canada may apply for a complimentary entry.
