Boxing Day Run - Hamilton

The Boxing Day Run in Hamilton, Ontario is scheduled for Boxing Day, December 26, 2026, and marks the 103rd running of the event. The race offers two distance options so participants can choose the best fit for them.

4 Mile Run / Walk

The course uses downtown streets and a paved waterfront trail, combining urban and waterfront sections. Start and finish lines are together on Hughson Street, located a few blocks from the downtown YMCA and north of King Street. Course maps are available on the event information page.

Race operations are centered in the YMCA Main Gymnasium. The indoor race hub provides bib and race-wear pickup, post-race refreshments and awards, change rooms with showers, and space for spectators and families.

The event has a community fundraising element; in 2024 the race donated $5,000 to the YMCA Saves Lives Campaign to support access to YMCA programs for local children and youth. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
