Boxing Day Run - Hamilton
The Boxing Day Run in Hamilton is an annual road race; the 2026 event marks the 103rd running. The start and finish are located together near King William and Hughson Street North, about three short blocks from the downtown YMCA.
The event gathers runners and walkers from across Ontario and offers two distance options:
- 10 mile run
- 4 mile run or walk
The course runs through downtown streets and along a paved waterfront trail, combining urban road sections with a waterfront path.
A fully indoor race hub is located in the YMCA Main Gymnasium and includes bib and race-wear pickup, post-race refreshments and awards, change rooms with showers, and a welcoming space for spectators and families.
The event has a community focus; the 2024 race donated $5,000 to the YMCA Saves Lives Campaign to support access to local youth programs. The race has also received local media coverage, including in 2019. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
