The Frostbite Solstice Trail Race 2026
The Frostbite Solstice Trail Race takes place at Marydale Park in Mount Hope, ON. The course is an approximately 3.7 km loop mixing tree covered trails and open field. There are a few short rolling hills and the site is typically windy. Organizers will finalize the exact loop close to race day to use trails in the best condition.
The event is structured around the winter solstice daylight length and offers multiple time-based options plus a relay format. Relay teams may include up to five runners, must complete full loops for each leg, and must use a designated relay transition area. Team members receive a shirt and a finishing medal; only top teams in each category receive awards.
There is one aid station on course that participants will pass every few kilometres. It will provide water, an electrolyte drink, a range of sweet and salty snacks, PB and J sandwiches, pickles, and hot drinks and soup. The event is cup-less so runners must bring a collapsible cup or bottle.
All participants receive a finisher's medal and a crewneck sweatshirt. Gels from THN Labs are included in the race kit and available at the aid station. Proceeds benefit Hamilton Out Of The Cold. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
