The event offers two trail distances at Tortolita Preserve in Marana, Arizona: a 13.15 Miles half-marathon and a 7.63 Miles 7 mile loop. The courses run on single-track trail, dirt road, and sandy washes; parts of the route are described as pristine dirt trail.
Aid stations are located roughly every 3 miles along the course. The half-marathon has a 4 hour 30 minute cut-off. All registrations include a custom race bib, an online finisher certificate, and a finisher medal.
The event includes a Tortoise Challenge where participants who beat the route director's benchmark time earn a special finisher pin. Benchmark times provided for the challenge are 2:24:23 for the half-marathon and 1:24:54 for the 7 mile course.
Packet pickup takes place at Dove Mountain Brewery the day before the race; packet pickup is also available on race morning. Online registration opens August 2, 2026 and closes March 13, 2027; a race-day online registration option is available with an increased fee.
