Runaway Pumpkin 5K & Family Fest
The Runaway Pumpkin 5K & Family Fest is scheduled for October 31, 2026 at the Child Protection Center’s Keith D. Monda Family Campus of Healing in North Port, Florida. The event combines a community road race program and a free family festival that supports the Child Protection Center’s work in child abuse prevention, medical assessment, and trauma informed therapy.

- 100 m - Mini Monster Dash
- Family Fest - free admission
The Family Fest features kid focused activities such as trick or treating, pumpkin painting, lawn games, sensory and activation stations, inflatable games, a kids costume contest with multiple age divisions, community partners, a puppy pit with PAWS therapy dogs, and food trucks offering meals and treats for sale. Organizers will accept donations of non perishable food items at the event for distribution to local families.
Costume guidelines apply across the event: costumes must be child friendly; weapon props and face coverings are not permitted except that children in the costume contest may wear face coverings during their contest only.
