RunAround Tucson Relay p/b Tucson Medical Center
The RunAround Tucson Relay is a team relay event that starts and finishes at Rillito Regional Park in Tucson and covers a roughly 54.1 Miles relay course using about 50 miles of the Chuck Huckelberry Loop and its segment partners. The event is organized as a supported relay with nine exchanges creating ten running legs; an unofficial exchange (6A) can create an eleventh leg.
Teams must consist of at least two and no more than ten members, or eleven if using the unofficial exchange 6A. Each team is responsible for getting teammates to exchange points and for returning non-running teammates to the start/finish area. Teams must check in at every exchange; failure to check in at each required exchange will result in a DNF for team awards. There is also an Ultra Loopy option in which solo runners check in only at Exchange 5.
The course uses marked exchange locations with leg distances provided by the organizer, and RaceJoy tracking will be active for real-time runner tracking. The event employs wave starts to stage teams by expected pace. The finish area includes music, food, drinks, and an awards ceremony with awards for first place in several team categories, ultra solo winners, and additional recognitions such as Best Dressed Team and Best Team Name.
