RunAround Tucson Relay presented by Tucson Medical Center
The RunAround Tucson Relay presented by Tucson Medical Center is a supported team relay on the Chuck Huckelberry Loop in Tucson. The course covers more than 50 miles and starts and finishes at Rillito Regional Park in Tucson, AZ.
Teams consist of two to ten runners. The relay is organized as ten running legs with nine official exchanges; an unofficial exchange labeled 6A can create an additional leg. Distances are assigned to each leg and vary across the course.
- Leg 1 - Rillito Park to Curtis Park - 4.4 miles
- Leg 2 - Curtis Park to Camino del Cerro Park - 4.61 miles
- Leg 3 - Camino del Cerro Park to Juhan Park - 3.7 miles
- Leg 4 - Juhan Park to Paseos de la Iglecius Park and Ride - 5.04 miles
- Leg 5 - Park and Ride to Augie Acuna Los Ninos Park - 6.86 miles
- Leg 6 - Augie Acuna to Old Vail Road Park and Ride - 8.61 miles
- Leg 7 - Old Vail Road to Fantasy Island - 5.16 miles
- Leg 8 - Fantasy Island to Christ Community Church - 4.81 miles
- Leg 9 - Christ Community Church to Pantano Park and Ride - 4.18 miles
- Leg 10 - Pantano Park and Ride to Rillito Park - 6.72 miles
The route follows the Rillito and Canyon Del Oro washes along Tucson’s paved multiuse trail network. Wave starts are used to stagger teams. There are time cutoffs including an overall completion limit of about 11.5 hours and intermediate cutoffs at exchanges 5 and 8. Each team is responsible for moving teammates between exchanges and the start/finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
