RUN585 Race Series
The RUN585 is a three-part race series held during the summer months in Rochester, New York. Participants may register for the complete series or choose to enter individual events. The races follow the Genesee River Path, incorporating views of the historic Genesee River and crossings over pedestrian bridges. The events conclude at the Genesee Waterways Center, which serves as a local hub for kayaking and canoeing.
Available distances include:
- 5 km (Race 1: The Big Run)
- 8 km (Race 2: Summer in the City)
- 5 km (Race 3: Hot Summer Night)
The course is located at Genesee Valley Park, with parking available at the Roundhouse Shelter off Moore Road and the baseball field lot on Genesee Street. Participants receive electronic timing, online results, and a custom finisher certificate for each event. Those completing the full series receive finisher medals for each race and a custom backpack with velcro patches.
Post-race activities include a social gathering with food, featuring Texas-style barbecue and baked potatoes at specific events. Awards are presented to top overall finishers and age group leaders in various categories, ranging from 19 and under to 80 and over. There is no registration available on the day of the event; all participants must register in advance and collect their packets at designated times.
