Run with the Herd 2026
Run with the Herd is a community walk and run held at Lake Phalen Regional Park in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The event serves as a fundraiser for SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education), an organization dedicated to suicide prevention, education, and support for loss survivors. The gathering encourages participation from a wide range of individuals, including competitive runners and casual walkers, to support mental health awareness.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km (once around Lake Phalen)
- 1 km kids route
The event takes place on an evening in June and includes various activities beyond the race itself. The program features opening speakers and a presentation by SAVE. Registration for the adult and youth categories includes access to pizza, beer, and other beverages following the completion of the course.
The event was established in memory of Tim Poferl and utilizes the bison as its primary symbol. Participants have the option to join as individuals or form fundraising teams. All proceeds from the registration fees and donations are directed toward suicide prevention advocacy and lethal means safety efforts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
