Run With The Fishes : Annual 5K, 10K and Kids' Fun Run
Run With The Fishes is an annual community road and trail event hosted by the Rotary Club of Issaquah at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah, Washington. The event includes multiple distances and a short children's course along the park waterfront and adjacent trails.
Distances offered:
- 5K on a single loop that follows the park shoreline.
- 10K covering the same loop twice.
- 1K Kids' Fun Run for children.
The course runs beside Lake Sammamish and parallels Issaquah Creek, with a one-mile section along SE 56th Street past soccer fields and local businesses. For 2026 the route was altered to avoid a damaged bridge; the revised layout uses the park's large soccer fields and trails on the west side of Issaquah Creek. The final mile of the loop follows a dirt trail along the creek.
Event features include a long-sleeved event running shirt, costume contests with prizes (Best Team Costume, Best in Show, Best Family "School" of Fish), food trucks, live music, and a beer garden featuring local brews from Big Block Brewery. Strollers are not suitable for the trail portion of the course. Registration fees vary by date and distance, and 100% of registration proceeds support local community grants, scholarships, and outreach administered by the Rotary Club of Issaquah.
