Run with the Cows 5K : Chatham, Michigan
Run with the Cows is a community 5-kilometre running event held in Chatham, Michigan on August 1, 2026. The event is presented by the Chatham Lions Club in conjunction with the Alger County Fair and takes place near N5274 M-94 West in Chatham.
The event offers a 5 km race with a paid adult entry and a free youth entry. The standard entry fee is $30. Youth participants age 17 and under may enter free and receive the same participant items as adults.
Registration opens in February and organizers note a pre-registration deadline of July 26 to receive a free T-shirt. Late and walk-in registrations are allowed but are not guaranteed a T-shirt. On-site registration and packet pick-up take place on the day of the event.
All participants receive a T-shirt if pre-registered, a discount coupon for ice cream at Mama Cows, and a day pass to the Alger County Fair. The course begins at the Peoples State Bank in Chatham, runs past the cow pastures of Michigan State University’s Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center, and finishes back at the bank.
