Run With Heart 5K Run/Walk
Run With Heart is a community 5K run/walk held in Roanoke on February 20, 2027 and organized by the Compress and Shock Foundation, a Roanoke based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The event honors cardiac arrest survivors and remembers victims while supporting the foundation's mission to provide free CPR and AED education, with particular focus on communities at higher risk due to race, ethnicity, language, or limited healthcare resources.
Event formats and fees
- 5K (3.1 miles) in-person
- 5K virtual Both entry options list a registration fee of $25.00. Registration windows differ by format: in-person registration opens October 1, 2026 and closes November 1, 2026; virtual registration opens October 1, 2026 and closes February 20, 2027.
Logistics and race day Packet pickup is available the day before at RunAbout Sports Roanoke, 3635 Franklin Road, Roanoke, VA 24014, and on event day at the race location, 210 Reserve Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24014. Parking is available at the race location, on adjacent streets, or at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine parking garage at 2 Riverside Circle, Roanoke, VA 24016. The event proceeds rain or shine. An award ceremony will follow the race; age group awards not claimed at the ceremony may be picked up at RunAbout Sports Roanoke during the week after the event.
