Event overview
The Run Wild 5K at the North Carolina Zoo takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in Asheboro, NC. Registration is limited to 650 participants and has a fee of $45. Course and logistics
The course is on North Carolina Zoo property and uses paved visitor pathways with rolling hills typical of the region's foothills. The route begins at the North America Connector road, goes through the Zoo’s Africa and North America areas, and finishes at the Solar Pointe picnic area. Start and finish lines are located near Solar Pointe just outside the Zoo gates; spectators can view both but cannot access course sections inside the Zoo during the race.
