Run Wild 5K
The Run Wild 5K is scheduled for July 12, 2026 at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Powell, Ohio. The event features a 5K course that travels around the zoo and finishes with a splash in the Zoombezi Bay Wild Tides wave pool.
All participants receive same-day admission to Zoombezi Bay and the Columbus Zoo and access to a private pool party at the wave pool before the park opens to the public. Registered entrants receive an event shirt from Recover Brands, an official finisher's medal, and complimentary race photos presented by OhioHealth.
The event directly supports the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Funds are intended for animal care and habitat improvements, veterinary services, and education programs. Current Columbus Zoo members receive a 10 percent discount on event registration.
Spectator registration will open closer to the event; all attendees must hold either a participant or spectator ticket to enter Zoombezi Bay on event day. Spectator tickets are limited to two per runner and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. All runners and spectators must follow Zoombezi Bay policies and security screening; bags will be checked and prohibited items including alcohol may be confiscated or destroyed.
Packet pickup is scheduled July 9 through July 11 at Buckeye State Bank, 9494 Wedgewood Blvd., Powell, OH 43065. The event has a no refund policy; bib transfers are allowed for a fee. Strollers are permitted. Pets are not allowed except for service animals specifically trained to assist a person with a disability. Any participant over age three must be registered.
