Run To Feed The Hungry
Run To Feed The Hungry is a community running event held at Scioto Audubon Metro Park in Columbus, Ohio. The event supports local Central Ohio food pantries through the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or gently used clothing and blankets to the race site to assist those in need.
The event features several distances on a paved trail system:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
- 5k
- 1 Mile
- Kids Dash (approximately 400 meters)
The races are chip timed, providing participants with instant results. The course remains open for 3.5 hours, which requires a minimum pace of 16:01 per mile for those participating in the half marathon. All finishers in the 1 mile, 5k, 10k, and half marathon receive a custom medal.
Participants receive a variety of event amenities, including a custom race bib, snacks, and refreshments. Entrants can choose their preferred event gear from options such as a t-shirt, hooded sweatshirt, holiday hat, or tutu. Refreshments at the finish line typically include a sweet treat from a local bakery, such as a mini pie, donut, or cookie.
The event is stroller and dog friendly, provided dogs remain on a leash. Parking is available at no cost within Scioto Audubon Metro Park. For those unable to attend in person, virtual participation options are available for the 5k, 10k, and half marathon distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
