Event Overview
The MRM Frozen Buttcheek 5K is a winter running event taking place in Marshall, Michigan. It offers a 5K Run, a 5K Walk, and a Dog 5K category for dogs running with their registered owners.
Registration and Fees
The standard registration fee is $38.00. Participants aged 17 and under can register for $25.00, and those 55 and over have a discounted fee of $33.00. The fee includes a custom screen-printed race shirt, a unique finisher medal, and access to post-race food and beverages.
Course and Amenities
The specific course for the 2026 event is still being finalized. The organizer states the course will be accurately measured. There will be three aid stations on the course offering water, an electrolyte drink, and snacks. One aid station will be passed twice. Directional signs and mile markers will be present.
Awards
The event features an extensive awards structure with over 200 awards given. Awards are presented in 19 age group categories for both the run and walk, with prizes for the top three finishers in each group. Special "Turtle in Peanut" awards are given to the slowest finisher in each age group. Additional unique awards include overall awards for the fastest runners and walkers in two age divisions (0-60 and 60+), "Crap I'm Slow!" awards for the last male and female finishers in both the run and walk, "The Longest Drive" award for the participant who traveled the farthest by car, and dog awards for the fastest and slowest canine participants. All participants receive a finisher medal.
Other Details
Dogs are welcome and will receive their own finisher medals and post-race treats. Post-race food aims to include gluten-free and dairy-free options. Packet pickup is only available on race day.
