Event details
The Run Through the Pines is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Lake Gregory in Crestline, CA. The event offers two distances:
- 5K
- 10K
The course runs around Lake Gregory and through a pine tree forest on a semi-paved surface at an elevation of about 4,720 feet. Race day staging is at the San Moritz Lodge “Meadow” area near the Lake Gregory Company bait and tackle shop. The event is hosted by the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District and the Lake Gregory Company. The event allows children in strollers, pets on a leash, and teams/groups. Additional features on race day include music, water, and post-race refreshments.
Registration, timing and logistics
Online pre-registration is preferred; same-day registration is available onsite. Registration fees: $40 until April 30, $50 from May 1 to August 7, and $60 for same-day registration. Run T-shirts are not included in the registration fee; shirts are available for $20 each. Timing is RFID chip timed. Awards include top three overall trophies and age-division awards (three deep) in the following categories: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 plus. Parking is available onsite at the San Moritz Lodge and Lake Gregory parking lots; parking restrictions apply near the Crest Forest Senior Citizens area.
