Run Through the Pines : Lake Gregory, Crestline (August 8, 2026)
The Run Through the Pines is the 47th edition of a mountain community running event hosted by the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District. It takes place at Lake Gregory in Crestline with race day staging in the San Moritz Lodge meadow area near the Lake Gregory Company bait and tackle shop.
The event features an open, semi-paved course that loops around Lake Gregory and passes through a pine tree forest at approximately 4,720 foot elevation. It offers both timed and untimed participation and includes options for walkers, children in strollers, pets on leash, and teams or groups.

Timing and awards use RFID chip timing by Itz About Time. Top three overall trophies are awarded and age division awards are given three-deep across expanded five-year age spans from 10 and under through 80 plus. The event also lists finisher medals, music or DJ, water stations, added restrooms and post-race refreshments, with a possible pancake breakfast being explored. Free parking is provided in Lake Gregory lots and onsite at San Moritz Lodge; participants are asked not to park in the Crest Forest Senior Citizens area.
