Event overview
The Run Through the Pines takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Lake Gregory in Crestline, CA. This is the 47th edition of the event. The race features the following distances:

- 10K
The course runs around Lake Gregory and through a pine tree forest. The surface is semi-paved and the course sits at approximately 4,720 feet elevation. Race day staging is at the San Moritz Lodge "Meadow" area near the Lake Gregory Company bait and tackle shop. Children in strollers and pets on a leash are permitted, and teams/groups may participate.
Logistics and registration
Registration fees vary by date: until April 30 the fee is $40, from May 1 to August 7 the fee is $50, and same-day registration on August 8 is $60. Run t-shirts are not included in the registration fee; shirts are available for $20 each. Organizers prefer online pre-registration; same-day registration will be available onsite.
Timing is done with RFID chip timing by ITZ ABOUT TIME. Awards include top three overall trophies and age-division awards three deep across age groups from 10 and under up to 80 plus. Parking is available onsite at the San Moritz Lodge and in Lake Gregory parking lots; parking near the Crest Forest Senior Citizens building is prohibited and vehicles may be towed. The event is hosted by the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District and the Lake Gregory Company. Volunteers are used for registration, water stations, start/finish, and course marshal duties.
