Run Through the Pines
Run Through the Pines is a mountain community running event held in Crestline, California. Established in 1979, the event takes place at an elevation of 4,720 feet and follows a semi-paved course. Participants travel around Lake Gregory and through a pine tree forest. Race day activities are staged at the San Moritz Lodge Meadow area, situated near the Lake Gregory Company bait and tackle shop.
The event offers two main distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
The course is open to both runners and walkers. Specialized groups are welcome, including teams, participants with children in strollers, and owners with pets on a leash. Timing is conducted using RFID chips, and awards are presented to the top three overall finishers as well as the top three finishers in various age divisions, ranging from ages 10 and under to 80 plus.
On-site amenities include music, water, and post-run refreshments. Parking is available at the San Moritz Lodge and Lake Gregory parking lots. Participants are advised to avoid parking near the Crest Forest Senior Citizens building. Participants have the option to pre-register online or register on the day of the event. Commemorative t-shirts are available for an additional fee separate from the registration cost. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
