Run Through the Pines

Run Through the Pines is a long-standing community event in Crestline, California, held annually on the second Saturday of August. Established in 1979, it is one of the oldest running events in Southern California. The event takes place at an elevation of 4,720 feet, offering participants a mountain environment for their run or walk.

The event features two distances:

  • 10 km
  • 5 km

The "open course" route is semi-paved and leads participants around Lake Gregory and through local pine forests. The race day staging area is located at the San Moritz Lodge Meadow area, near the Lake Gregory Company bait and tackle shop.

The event utilizes RFID chip timing for all participants. Awards are provided for the top three overall finishers, and age division awards are distributed three deep across multiple categories, ranging from age 10 and under to 80 plus. Participants receive finisher medals.

Registration is open to participants of various levels, including those with children in strollers or pets on a leash. Teams and groups are also encouraged to participate. The event includes water stations along the course, on-site music provided by a DJ, and free parking at the San Moritz Lodge and Lake Gregory parking lots. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
