Run Through History 5K - Cape May, NJ
The Run Through History 5K takes place on May 8, 2027, in Cape May, New Jersey. The event begins and ends at Lafayette Street Park, 711 Lafayette St., and carries a registration fee of $50. The distance for the event is 5K.
The course is described as flat and fast and runs through Cape May’s historic district. The route passes Victorian homes and several local landmarks, including the Southern Mansion, Emlen Physick Estate, Kiwanis Park, Chalfonte Hotel, Firemen’s Museum, Harriet Tubman Museum, and Cape May Nature Trails.
Participants receive a commemorative race shirt and finisher recognition. Timing for the 5K is chip timed by Delmo Pro. Awards are given in overall and masters categories and there are age-group awards. Walkers are welcome and the event is presented with a family-friendly atmosphere.
Packet pickup is available the week prior at 110 Ocean St., Cape May, and on race day at 711 Lafayette St. Parking is available at Cape May Elementary School, 921 Lafayette St. The race course starts and finishes at Lafayette Street Park and follows streets and paths that highlight Cape May’s preserved architecture and coastal points of interest.
