Run the Wild Half Marathon - Autumn Edition
This is a guided trail half marathon in the Chiltern Hills based at the Iron Room near Tring Station. The route covers 13 miles / 21.1 km with an ascent of around 300 m and is run over a half day. The course passes undulating chalk hills and local woods and uses a refreshment point a little over halfway.
Participants are grouped by ability and receive trail running instruction from local English Athletics qualified run leaders. The organisers state that anything steep will be walked and that first time trail half marathon runners are welcome. The event includes a finisher’s medal and a Trees not Tees certificate. Facilities listed for the event include toilets, a bag drop and a checkpoint.
The event location is close to Tring train station, approximately a three minute walk from the hall and about 40 minutes north west of London by train. Paid parking is available at the station and there is limited on-street free parking nearby. The Autumn edition lists 50 spaces and shows a ticket price of £55 for an individual entry.
