Run the Vineyards - Rocklands Farm 5K
This event is held at Rocklands Farm Winery in Poolesville, Montgomery County. The distance is 5K on a groomed cross country style course that combines hard packed dirt, gravel, and grass trails. The course is chip timed and results are provided instantly. Awards are given to top overall and age group finishers, with results recorded three deep for male and female categories across standard age brackets.
Walkers and children are welcome on course; walkers must be registered and start behind runners for safety. A one hour time limit is requested for participants on course.
An after party takes place on the winery property with wine available for tasting and purchase, one drink ticket for participants over 21, live music, an on site food truck, and indoor and outdoor seating. Spectators are welcome and additional wine is available for purchase.
Participant amenities include a custom tech shirt offered in women's, men's/unisex, and youth sizes, with an option to upgrade to a long sleeve for an extra fee; size availability may be limited after October 11. Additional items listed by the organizer include a souvenir wine glass, optional finisher medals for purchase, free race photos, and free parking. Packet pick up is available on race morning at the Good Day for a Run tent. Volunteers receive a glass of wine and a future race entry.
