Run the Vineyards - Rocklands Farm 5K
The event is a scenic 5K run held at Rocklands Farm Winery in Poolesville, Maryland. The course runs through vineyard and farm terrain and is described as a well groomed cross country style route composed of hard packed dirt, gravel, and grass trails. The course is professionally marked and includes hydration stations and volunteer support.
Timing is chip based with instant results. Awards are given to top overall finishers and age group winners, three deep for male and female categories, with age groups including Under 14, 15-19, 20-29 and continuing in ten year increments. Walkers and children are welcome; walkers must be registered, start behind runners for safety, and the course has a one hour time limit.
Post-race amenities at the property include wine available for sale and tasting, a complimentary drink ticket for participants over 21, live music during the after party, a food truck, and indoor and outdoor seating. Race swag includes a custom tech shirt available in youth, women's, and men's/unisex sizes with an option to upgrade to long sleeves for an extra fee, a souvenir wine glass, and optional souvenir finisher medals available for purchase.
