Run the Vineyards - Memorial Day at Pindar 5K
The event is the 7th annual Memorial Day weekend 5K held at Pindar Vineyards in Peconic, NY. It offers a 5K Run/Walk and a 1 Mile Walk that follows a scenic route through vineyard rows. The 5K course is described as beautiful and relatively flat and is chip timed with instant results. Water is provided at a water station and at the finish line along with bananas.
The race lists awards for the top three overall finishers and age group awards for male and female competitors in these groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, and every 10 years thereafter. The NY Cancer Foundation is identified as the charity partner for this event.
After the finish there is an on site gathering featuring live music, food trucks, a full wine bar and tasting options, and one complimentary glass of wine for participants 21 and over. Pawsitive Possibilities will be on site with puppy adoptions. All finishers receive a Run the Vineyards stemless wine glass and a custom tech shirt in women, youth, and men/unisex sizes; a women's racerback tank is available for an extra fee. Souvenir finisher medals are optional for an added fee. Race day packet pick up is located behind the winery at the event tents.
