Proceeds from the event will support the Hospital Foundation of Decatur County and Lakeview Wellness. A portion of funds is designated to help revitalize the Lake Santee marina property and to increase local health and wellness opportunities, including services for people with disabilities.
The courses run near the water and are described as scenic; aid stations and volunteers will be available on the route. The 5K offers a shorter lakeside course while the 10K covers a longer shoreline route. The runs include age group awards in these categories: 15 and under, 16 to 30, 31 to 50, and 51 and over.
A postrace brunch is offered for an additional fee of $15 per person or $60 for a family of five.
