Run the River - Kennewick
Run the River takes place in Columbia Park in Kennewick, Washington on April 16 and 17, 2027. The road race course runs next to the Columbia River and passes through the towns of Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco.
The route stays on paved paths and roadways for the entire distance. Participants pass three landscaped parks and see the Columbia River and the surrounding mountains. The course is described as flat and the event occurs in spring, which may support faster times for some runners.
Race options include several distances and formats:
- Marathon 26.2 miles.
- Marathon Early Start 26.2 miles, not eligible for awards.
- Four person marathon relay, total 26.2 miles; segments 8.1, 7.6, 4.0, 6.5 miles.
- Half marathon 13.1 miles, out and back course.
- 5k 3.1 miles, out and back course.
- Kids marathon final 1.2 miles on race day after 25 miles previously completed.
Registration for the listed races opens August 1, 2026 and closes October 1, 2026. Events use Columbia Park for the start and finish location and run along local parks and riverfront roadways. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
