Run the River
Run the River is a road race event located in Kennewick, Washington. The 4th annual edition of this event features a course that starts and finishes at Columbia Park. Participants travel through the towns of Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco while following the path of the Columbia River.
The route consists entirely of paved paths and roadways. It passes through three different landscaped parks and offers views of the river and the surrounding mountains. The terrain is flat, and the event takes place during the spring season.
The event offers several distances and categories:
- Full Marathon (26.2 miles)
- 4 Person Marathon Relay (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- Kids Marathon (1.2 miles)
The Marathon Relay is divided into four segments of 8.1 miles, 7.6 miles, 4.0 miles, and 6.5 miles. Both the half marathon and the 5k follow an out and back course design. For the Kids Marathon, participants complete 25 miles independently prior to the event and run the final 1.2 miles on the scheduled day. An early start option is available for the full marathon, though participants choosing this option are not eligible for age group or overall awards.
