Run the River Fall Challenge : overview
The Run the River Fall Challenge takes place on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta. The event offers these distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
All routes start and finish at Louise McKinney Riverfront Park (lower level) and follow the river valley pathways. The course was adjusted because pathway work west of Walterdale Bridge requires runners to head south over Walterdale Bridge to the turnaround points. Updated route maps are provided for each distance.
Logistics and extras
Race package pick up is scheduled at Fast Trax Run and Ski Shop (7326 101 Avenue) on Saturday, September 27, with assigned pick-up windows. The entry fee includes a post-race BBQ provided by River Valley Adventure Company; beer and other beverages are available for purchase. A children’s event, the Legendary Juniors, takes place on the grassy area near the start/finish for ages 5 to 12 and has a separate entry fee of CA$7.48. Registration uses tiered, date-based pricing.
