Run the Platte Half, 10K, 5K, and Virtual Run
The event takes place in Springfield, Nebraska on October 3, 2026, using sections of the MoPac Trail. Distances offered include a half marathon, a 10K, a 5K, and a virtual option that allows participants to complete any distance on their own schedule and submit results afterward.
Course details vary by distance. The half marathon is an out and back that crosses the Platte River pedestrian bridge and continues through the North Lake neighborhood, with a mix of crushed limestone, pavement, and dirt roads. The 10K and 5K are out and back courses on the MoPac Trail featuring crushed limestone terrain with rolling hills. Aid stations are placed at approximately every two miles. A four hour time limit applies for the half marathon.
Registration includes professional timing, a long sleeved running shirt, a finisher medal, age group and overall finisher awards, and pumpkin pie. Listed registration fees are $49 for the half marathon, $42 for the 10K, $32 for the 5K, and $45 for the virtual run. Packet pickup is available the day before in Bellevue and on race day at the MoPac trailhead parking lot, 1500 NE-31, Springfield.
