Run the Plank 5k
Run the Plank is a 5k event on June 20, 2026, held at Ottawa Township High School, 211 E. Main St., Ottawa, IL 61350. The event includes both an in person race and a virtual option.

- 3.1 miles in person 5k
- 3.1 miles virtual 5k that can be completed anytime and anywhere
The in person course starts at Ottawa High School, follows the river walk and the I&M Canal, and returns via the east side to finish back at Ottawa High School. The distance is certified and the route is traffic controlled. Live music is part of the event atmosphere. Water and refreshments will be available at the finish line.
Registration opens December 20, 2025 and closes June 1, 2026. The registration fee is $30. Shirts are only guaranteed for participants who pre register on or before May 20, 2026. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine; in the event of cancellation due to extreme weather there will not be a make up date. Proceeds benefit the Ottawa Township High School cross country team and a portion will go to Run Today for Tomorrow. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
