Run the Plank 5k : Ottawa, IL
Run the Plank is a community 5k event taking place on June 20, 2026, at Ottawa Township High School, 211 E. Main St., Ottawa, IL 61350. The certified 3.1 mile course starts and finishes at the high school, runs along the scenic river walk and the I&M Canal, and follows the east side of town. The course is traffic controlled.
Two event options are offered, including an in-person 5k and a virtual 5k that can be completed anytime and anywhere to support the Ottawa Township High School Cross Country Team. Water and refreshments are available at the finish area. Live music is scheduled as part of the event. Shirts are only guaranteed to participants who pre-register on or before Friday, May 15, 2026. Race day registration and packet pick-up occur at 8:00 AM on event day.
Registration opens December 20, 2025 and closes June 1, 2026. The listed registration fee is $30.00. The event proceeds benefit the OHS Cross Country Team, and a portion of proceeds will go to Run Today for Tomorrow. The event will proceed rain or shine; in the case of cancellation due to extreme weather there will not be a make up date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
