Event overview
The August Hill Wine Run is a chip-timed 5k held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at August Hill Winery, 106 Mill St., Utica, IL 61373. The course starts and finishes on Mill Street in front of the winery and follows the I&M Canal on a flat route. Results are timed and scored by J3 Timing and will be posted online.
Logistics and extras
Registration includes a T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, a chip-timed race bib, and a pour of wine. Minors receive a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal and bib but do not receive a wine glass or a wine pour. Packet pickup is race day only. Virtual participation is available; entrants can pick up a packet on race day or request packet shipment for an additional fee.
The event offers age-group awards for the top three finishers in each 10-year category; awards must be picked up at the registration table on the day of the event and will not be shipped afterward. Strollers are permitted but not recommended due to uneven course ground; children in strollers may participate free and do not need to register. Dogs are not allowed on site. The event’s local charity partner is Friendship House of Illinois, which provides services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
