Run The Path 10k
Run The Path is a chip timed 10 km running race that starts and finishes at Putnam County Junior High School, 13183 N 350th Ave, McNabb, IL 61335. The course is an out and back on nicely paved county roads and is USATF certified (IL23015NM).
The route passes through rural scenery where runners may see deer, turkey, and eagles. The terrain includes a mix of hills and flat sections. Water stations are available on course. Volunteers are positioned at each mile marker and at intersections for traffic control, while the course remains open to local traffic. Emergency crew coverage is available. A two hour time limit applies to the course.
Strollers and walkers are welcome; headphones are not permitted. Post race food and beverages are provided. A race sweatshirt is guaranteed for participants who pre register by October 11, 2026; after that date a sweatshirt is not guaranteed. Entry fees vary by registration period and a no shirt option is offered at a lower fee. Members of Starved Rock Runners, Lake Run Club, Prairie State Road Runners, and Springfield Road Runners receive a $4 discount on online registration for qualifying pricing.
Awards are given to the top overall male and female and across multiple age brackets including 14 and under, 15–19, 20–24, up to 75 and up. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
