Run The Path 10k
The Run The Path 10k is a 10 km road race held in McNabb, Illinois. This chip-timed event follows an out-and-back route that begins and ends at Putnam County Junior High School. The course is USATF certified (IL23015NM) and takes place on paved county roads.
The terrain consists of a mix of flat sections and hills. Participants travel through rural surroundings where local wildlife such as deer, turkey, and eagles are occasionally visible. While volunteers are stationed at mile markers and intersections for traffic control, the roads remain open to local vehicles.
The event is open to runners, walkers, and strollers, though the use of headphones is not permitted. A two-hour time limit is in place for the course. Water stations are positioned along the route, and emergency crew coverage is available during the event.
Early registrants are guaranteed a race sweatshirt, provided they sign up by specific October deadlines. Participants have access to post-race food and beverages. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as to winners in age brackets ranging from 14 and under to 75 and over. Members of several regional running clubs are eligible for registration discounts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
