Event Overview
Run the Highlands is an annual 5 km running event and 1 mile family trail walk organized by the Lake Highlands Junior Women's League. It is described as a family-friendly, community event.

The event takes place at Lake Highlands High School, located at 9449 Church Road in Dallas, Texas. The date for the event is Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Schedule and Activities
The 5 km race begins at 8:30 AM. The 1 mile family walk starts at 8:45 AM. A carnival with activities for children is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM near the Lake Highlands Recreation Center. Carnival activities mentioned include a petting zoo, bounce houses, face painting, and balloon artists.
Registration and Logistics
Registration is handled online. There is a youth discount for participants aged 12 and under, and a group discount for four or more registrants in the same transaction. The 5 km race is a USATF-sanctioned event.
Packet pickup is available on the Thursday and Friday before the race at Vector Brewing on Walnut Hill Lane, as well as on race morning near the starting line.
Parking is available in the neighborhoods surrounding the high school, in the main high school parking lot, and at the Lake Highlands Recreation Center.
Community Impact
