2026 Run the Highlands 5K and Family Trail Walk
The Run the Highlands event celebrates its 21st year in Dallas, Texas. This community gathering takes place in the Lake Highlands area and includes various participation options and activities. The event is organized by the Lake Highlands Junior Women's League, with funds raised from registration, donations, and sponsorships given back to the local community.

- 5k Run (USATF-sanctioned)
- 1-mile Family Trail Walk
The 5k Run begins across from the Lake Highlands North Aquatic Center. The 1-mile Family Trail Walk includes entertainment along the route. Participants can also visit a children's carnival featuring games and activities. A warm-up session is provided before the start of the races.
Official packet pick-up is scheduled for the two days preceding the race at Vector Brewing, as well as on the morning of the event at a tent near the starting line. Parking is available at Lake Highlands High School (LHHS) until street closures take effect, after which participants may use neighborhood streets.
A discount is available for youth participants aged 12 and under. The event also supports team registration and individual fundraising efforts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
