Run the Green : event overview
Run the Green is an Orca Running road race held in March. The event offers the following distances:
- Half marathon
- 10K
All participants receive a commemorative shirt, a medal, free photo downloads, and post-race snacks. The event is cupless: aid stations will not offer disposable cups, and participants are encouraged to use a handheld, hydration pack, or a small reusable cup.
Course and logistics
The race starts and ends at Three Friends Fishing Hole, 19970 Russell Rd, Kent, WA 98032. The half marathon is an out-and-back course that follows the Green River and includes a small loop at the halfway mark. The 10K is an out-and-back on the same route with the turnaround just past the first aid station at mile 3.1. Aid stations are located every 2-3 miles and are stocked with GU gels and Tailwind electrolytes. Restrooms and porta-potties are available at the start/finish and at several points on course.
Parking is provided at Columbia Distributing and Surface Art, Inc. A free gear check is available at the start/finish; participants must bring their own bag. Entries are non-refundable but may be deferred or transferred. Participants aged 22 and under or 65 and over are eligible for a 15% registration discount.
