Run the Field: Land That I Love 5K

The event takes place at Brookfield Local Schools, 614 Bedford Road, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. The 400 meter Fun Run is one lap around the track and awards a participation medal to every Fun Run finisher.
The 5K course runs on residential streets, includes some hills, and uses the school track for part of the route. The 5K is chip timed by GCXC Racing, Youngstown. Commemorative finisher medals are provided for 5K participants. Awards are given to the top three overall men and top three overall women, and to the top three males and top three females in the following age groups: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Up.
One section of the 5K course is dedicated to soldiers, past and present. For a $10 donation registrants can provide a poster insert for that section and receive a certificate of thanks. A small version of each poster may be added to a Military Honor Book displayed at the registration and information table. Poster inserts may be affected by weather and could be damaged or unavailable to keep.
After the running events a Warrior Games competition is scheduled and welcomes all ages. The Decathlon events include hopping hurdles, a 460 centimeter log roll, standing long jump, beach ball shot put, frisbee discus, high jump and touch, cornhole toss, a 30 meter skip, ring toss, and paper airplane javelin throw. Participants may compete individually or as part of a three person team. Additional activities include a scavenger hunt, a trivia competition, and a patriotic costume contest with prizes for Best Dressed Icon and Overall Patriotic.
