Run the Cove Half Marathon & 10K
Run the Cove is a road and greenway event held in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, on the Hampton Cove and Flint River Greenways. The event offers two distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
The half marathon course starts on the Hays Nature Preserve Greenway, follows Old 431, passes ballfields and goes through a tunnel, uses the ponds path through Hampton Cove neighborhoods, and returns to the greenway with a few rolling hills on the back side. The 10K course is certified. Both races start together and the finish line is located on the track behind the school.
The event is chip-timed and enforces a four-hour time limit. Minimum age for entry is 12 years. Registration is capped at the first 500 entrants and all entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Entry includes race registration, a race shirt, a unique finisher medal, and post-race food.
On-course support includes water and Powerade at multiple stations (approximate mile markers 3.5, 6, 9, 12 and a 5ish station for the 10K), GU at mile 6, and portable toilets near mile 1.5 and mile 6. Packet pickup is available before race day at Fleet Feet Huntsville and late pickup near the starting area. Parking is handled at Hampton Cove Elementary/Middle School.
