Mike's Run the Chop Challenge : Vineyard Haven, MA
Mike's Run the Chop Challenge takes place on July 4, 2026 in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts. The event uses the Tisbury School as the race start and has been held for 25 years. It has raised more than $140,000 for island youth programs including Martha's Vineyard Big Brothers Big Sisters, the MV Youth Running Club, and Rotary of Martha's Vineyard.
The event offers multiple distances:
- 5.25 miles traditional loop around West Chop
- 3.5 miles new loop
- Kids' Fun Run untimed for ages 8 and under
Entry fees are listed for each event. Registration opens on May 5, 2026 and closes on July 3, 2026. In-person registration is limited to 200 entries. Race shirts are guaranteed only to the first 800 registrants. Late in-person registration is available on July 3 and on race morning.
Parking is very limited and parking at the school is not permitted; alternatives include street parking, the Tisbury Park and Ride, biking, car-pooling, or drop-off. Dogs are not allowed in the main races; the Kids' Fun Run allows parents, strollers, and pets. Awards are presented on site to top male and female overall and to the top three male and female finishers in standard age divisions for both main events.
