About the race
Run Sandringham 24 is a trail endurance event held at the Sandringham Estate, the winter residence of the Royal Family. Participants run a 5 mile circular route through the Royal Parkland and the surrounding Norfolk countryside. The event follows a 24-hour format where the objective is to complete as many laps as possible within the designated time frame.
The event offers several participation methods:
- Solo
- Relay pair
- Team of up to 12 runners
Solo participants must generally be 21 years or older, though runners under 20 may participate with a 27-mile distance limit. Pair and team runners must be 18 years or older. The course remains open for the full 24-hour duration, and participants may choose to run as many or as few laps as they wish.
The event village serves as the central hub, featuring a start and finish area, chip timing, and medical support. Facilities include onsite camping for runners and supporters, with toilets, hot showers, and parking located within a short walk. The village also hosts food and drink vendors, live music, DJ entertainment, and sports massage services. A free 1 mile children's race is held on the Saturday morning before the main event begins. Every finisher receives a goody bag and a medal, with special recognition for solo runners who surpass the 100 mile mark. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
