West Acre Wild 10k Challenge
The event is an off-road 10 km run that follows undulating bridle paths and woodland tracks through the Norfolk countryside. The route begins with a short paved section and then continues on farm and woodland paths. Most paths are generally dry, but a short length of farm track may be wet and muddy depending on recent rainfall.
There are several optional obstacles along the route that participants may choose to attempt. The course crosses the West Acre fords shortly before the finish; the fords can be crossed using a narrow walkway. Runners who intend to cross the fords on foot are advised to have spare trainers and socks available at the finish.
Event HQ and registration are located adjacent to The Stag pub. Registration opens from 09:00 on the day and race numbers are collected at Event Registration. Parking is available off Walton Road with access to The Stag; entrants are asked to avoid driving into West Acre village.
A water point is provided at the 5 km mark. There is no formal bag drop, but the car park is a short distance from the start and belongings may be left at Event HQ at the owner’s risk. All entrants receive a bespoke West Acre Wild Stag medal. Portable toilets are available at Event HQ and at the start/finish. Tea, coffee, squash and cakes will be available at the finish. Ten spot prizes will be drawn at random. Proceeds support the Purfleet Trust. Entries are non-refundable; transfers to another runner are permitted until 10/10/2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
