West Acre Wild 10k Challenge
The West Acre Wild 10k Challenge is an off-road running event held in the Norfolk countryside near Westacre. The course primarily consists of undulating bridle paths and woodland tracks. While the event begins with a short section of paved road, the majority of the route follows farm and woodland paths. Some sections of the farm track may be wet or muddy depending on recent weather conditions.
- 10 km
The route features several optional obstacles for participants to attempt. Near the conclusion of the course, runners must cross the West Acre fords. This can be done via a narrow walkway or by running through the water. A water station is provided for all participants at the 5 km mark of the race.
The event is open to runners with dogs, who start in a separate wave shortly before the main group. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. Facilities at the event include portable toilets at the headquarters and a selection of refreshments, such as cakes and various drinks, at the finish line. Proceeds from the event are directed toward the Purfleet Trust. Parking is located off Walton Road, and participants are asked to avoid driving through West Acre village.
