Run Rockaway Beach Firecracker Half Marathon & 5K
The event takes place on July 5, 2026 at Beach 94th on the boardwalk in Far Rockaway, New York. The start and finish are located at Beach 94th on the boardwalk and public parking is available in a lot on Beach 94th.
Distances offered:
- 13.1 miles - RUN ROCKAWAY BEACH FIRECRACKER HALF MARATHON
- 3.1 miles - RUN ROCKAWAY BEACH FIRECRACKER 5K
Both courses run along the boardwalk and offer ocean views along the route. The half marathon is laid out as two loops that begin and end at Beach 94th, proceed west to Beach 124th, return east to 54th, and then head back to Beach 94th to repeat the loop. The 5K is an out and back course from Beach 94th to Beach 124th and back to the finish at Beach 94th.
There are at least four water stops on each loop of the half marathon. On race day, bib pick up, T shirt distribution and check in occur at Beach 94th. The organizer lists T shirt, medal and snacks for participants. Registration opens on September 2, 2025. Registration closes March 13, 2026 for the half marathon and March 12, 2026 for the 5K. Fees are listed as $65.00 for the half and $45.00 for the 5K. Day of race registration is also offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
