Brooklyn Duathlon (USAT Sanctioned)
The event takes place in Prospect Park with transition at the Lincoln Road entrance. It is organized by a local multisport club and is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. The park courses use the main park roads and Joggers' lane.
Both duathlon runs are one full loop of 3.34 miles. The bike course is four laps around the park for a total of 13.4 miles. The 5K run follows the same 3.34 mile loop on the main road.
- 20 miles - Individual Duathlon: 3.34 mi run, 13.4 mi bike, 3.34 mi run
- 3.34 miles - 5K Run one full loop
- Junior free registration ages 14 to 18 for both events
Registration details vary by event. Individual duathlon registration has a fee of $90 and requires a USA Triathlon racing license; junior duathlon registration is free for ages 14 to 18. The 5K entry fee is $35 and junior 5K registration is free for ages 14 to 18. Day of registration is available with a $10 late fee.
Bicycle requirements: any bike with functioning brakes is permitted. Public parking is limited; public transit access via the Q train to Prospect Park station is recommended. Water and trash are available at check in; portable restrooms are located by the transition area.
Results for the duathlon include transition breakdowns and online results are normally published within 48 hours. Photos are published after the event. Race awards include top three men and women medals, finisher medals for duathlon participants, and a finisher training jersey for all participants; age group awards may be offered if registration minimums are met.
