Event Overview
The Brooklyn Duathlon takes place in Prospect Park. The event starts and finishes at the Lincoln Road entrance.
Course Details
The duathlon follows a run-bike-run format.
- Run segments: Two identical segments, each 2.2 miles on a small loop.
- Bike segment: 10 miles consisting of three laps around the park. The transition area is located by Lincoln Road. The courses use the park's roads.
Registration and Participation
There are two event options.
- Individual Duathlon: Standard registration.
- Junior/High School Duathlon: Free registration for participants aged 14 to 18. No racing license is required to register. Check-in begins one hour and ends 20 minutes before the start. Day-of registration is available with a late fee. Online registration is recommended.
Awards and Amenities
Top-three male and female finishers receive medals, with special awards for the winners. All other duathlon participants receive a finisher medal. Every participant also gets a finisher training jersey. Age group awards may be offered depending on registration numbers. Water and a trash bag will be available at the check-in table. Portable restrooms will be located by the transition area.
Logistics
The event is organized by Verrazano Team, a New York City-based club. Public parking near Prospect Park is noted as being hard to find; using the Q train to the Prospect Park station is suggested. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
