Run Rabbit Run 2026 : Steamboat Springs, Colorado
Run Rabbit Run is a trail ultramarathon event held in Steamboat Springs, Colorado on September 18 and 19, 2026. The event offers two main race distances:
- 100 mile ultramarathon
- 50 mile ultramarathon
The 100 mile program includes two starting groups with different time cutoffs; the event lists 30 hour and 36 hour cutoffs for those options. The 50 mile race has a 15 hour cutoff. Entrant fields are limited to 450 for the 100 mile race and 200 for the 50 mile race.
The race began as a 50 mile event in 2007 and added the 100 mile distance in 2012. The 100 mile race features a prize purse reported at $100,000 overall with $20,000 awards for the men’s and women’s first place finishers. Run Rabbit Run is also organized as a charity race; since 2007 the event reports donations totaling over $700,000 to nonprofit organizations, and in 2025 donated over $82,000 to 20 northern Colorado charities.
The event takes place on trails in the mountains of northern Colorado and operates under a special use permit on the Routt National Forest.
