The Continental Divide Trail Run is a mountain trail event held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The race starts and finishes on the Torian Plum Lawn in front of Slopeside Grill and passes through aspen and pine forests with views of the Yampa Valley.
Distances
- 50k - just over 29.5 miles, roughly 5,500 ft elevation gain
- 16 mile - just under 16 miles, over 3,500 ft elevation gain
- 5 mile - just under 5 miles, >1,000 ft to the turnaround
The 50k and 16 mile courses begin and finish around 7,000 ft and climb above 10,300 ft; much of the 50k is at or above 10,000 ft. Aid stations are provided on the 50k and 16 mile courses; the 5 mile course has no aid stations. This is a cupless race; runners must carry their own hydration device and energy food. Collapsible cups are available for purchase at packet pickup.
Cutoff times are enforced by distance (for example a 50k cutoff of nine hours and a 16 mile cutoff of seven hours). Vehicle access to the course is prohibited; the only crewing location is the Rainbow Saddle aid station and access there is by foot, bike, or gondola. Awards include top-three prizes, age-group awards for the 50k and 16 mile, and finisher mugs for the 50k and 16 mile. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
