Run Northumberland Half Marathon : Matfen, 15 March 2026
The event is a Half-Marathon held in and around the village of Matfen, Newcastle upon Tyne. The course uses a small 5 km loop through the start and finish area followed by two laps of the established 10 mile route, forming an undulating road course that finishes on the village by‑pass near the start area. The surface is road and the route is traffic free.
Race services and facilities are based at Matfen Village Hall, which provides registration, bag drop and refreshments. Parking is available on the village by‑pass opposite Matfen Hall. Toilets and changing facilities are provided near the start and finish. There is first aid cover on site.
Timing and race control details: chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport and distance is marked in miles at each mile. Results and finishing positions are calculated from gun time; chip times are available for personal use. Race numbers include a foam strip with the chip and should be worn visibly on the front of the running top. Water stations are located approximately every 3 miles.
Entry and prizes: minimum age 17, entries are limited to 300. Affiliated and unaffiliated entry fees differ. Finishers receive a medal. Individual prizes for 1st to 3rd male and female are awarded with vouchers and a trophy for winners. Team prizes apply to UKA affiliated clubs where three scorers wear official club vests.
