Run Northumberland Half Marathon 2026
The Run Northumberland Half Marathon is a road running event set in the village of Matfen. The course is designed as an undulating route that utilizes parts of the well known local 10 mile race path while bypassing specific steep sections found on shorter 10k variants. Participants complete a small 5 km loop through the start and finish area before embarking on a two lap course. The race concludes on the village by-pass.
This event is held under UK Athletics Rules and features chip timing provided by Timing4Sport. The course is traffic free and includes distance markers at every mile. Water stations are positioned approximately every three miles along the route to support runners.
Available distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
Race headquarters and registration are located at the Matfen Village Hall, where bag drop and refreshment facilities are also provided. Parking is available on the village by-pass opposite Matfen Hall, in close proximity to the starting line. All finishers receive a medal, and individual trophies or vouchers are awarded to top overall performers and winners across various veteran age categories ranging from 35+ for women and 40+ for men.
