Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon 2026
The Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon is a road race held in the historic village of Bamburgh. The event features a route on closed roads, providing a traffic-free environment for participants. The course is designed as a loop between Bamburgh and North Sunderland, characterized by an undulating profile that includes many flat sections through the Northumberland countryside.
Participants can expect views of the North Sea, the Farne Islands, and Holy Island during the run. The race has a participation limit of 1,200 runners. The minimum age for entry is 17 years old.

The race headquarters is located at the Links Car Park in Bamburgh, where registration and bag drop services are available. Water stations are positioned every 3 miles along the course, and distance markers are placed at every mile. The event is chip-timed by Timing4Sport, though official results and prize placements are based on gun time.
All finishers receive a medal and a t-shirt. Individual prizes are awarded to the first three men and women, as well as winners in various veteran age categories starting from M40+ and W35+. Team prizes are also available for the first male and female teams, requiring three members to finish while wearing official club vests.
