Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon 2026
The event takes place on 18 October 2026 in Bamburgh, NE69 7DF. The distance is a Half-Marathon on road surface. The course is a loop of closed roads between Bamburgh and North Sunderland. The route is described as undulating with many flat sections and includes views toward the Farne Islands, Holy Island and the North Sea. Bamburgh Castle forms a backdrop to the village location.
Entries, facilities and race details
Entry is limited to 1,200 participants. Affiliated entry fee is £30.00 and unaffiliated entry fee is £32.00. An early bird price applied until 1 December 2025 (£24.00 club runners; £26.00 unattached runners). Entries close on 10 October 2026. Minimum age is 17.
Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport; official results and positions are based on gun time. Cut-off for the half marathon is 3 hours. Race day facilities listed include registration at Links Car Park, bag drop, toilets, changing, parking and first aid. There are water stations every 3 miles and distance markers every mile. Finishers receive a medal and a t-shirt. Prizes include individual prizes for the first three men and women, age-category prizes (notably first in each M40+ and W35+ category) and team prizes for first male and female teams (three to count, runners must wear club vest).
