About the race
Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon is a popular road race set in Bamburgh, a historic village in NE Northumberland, with Bamburgh Castle providing a dramatic backdrop. The race covers a single 13.1-mile loop on traffic-free, closed roads between Bamburgh and North Sunderland, described as slightly undulating with long flat sections through the Northumberland countryside. Runners enjoy views of the Farne Islands, Holy Island, and the North Sea.
Timing4Sport chip timing, mile-markers every mile, and water stations every three miles help pacing. Finishing medal and a technical t-shirt await all finishers. Prizes for first three men and women, age groups, and club-team awards.
