Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon takes place on 18 October 2026 in Bamburgh (NE69 7DF). The event is a Half-Marathon on road surfaces with an undulating profile. The route uses closed roads and is limited to 1,200 entries. Minimum age is 17. Entries close on 10 October 2026. Early bird prices apply until 1 December 2025.
Course and race day
The course is a loop of closed roads between Bamburgh and North Sunderland with some flat sections and slight undulations. There are views toward the Farne Islands, Holy Island and the North Sea. Race headquarters and registration are at the Links Car Park, Bamburgh. Registration is held at the Links Car Park between 08:00 and 09:00. Facilities at race HQ include bag drop, toilets, changing, parking, first aid and refreshments. Water stations are provided approximately every 3 miles and distance markers are placed every mile.
Entries, timing and prizes
Affiliated entry fee is £30 and unaffiliated entry fee is £32. Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport; chip times are for personal use while race positions are based on gun time. The published half marathon cut-off is 3 hours. Finishers receive a medal and a t-shirt. Individual prizes are awarded to the first three men and women, with specified age-category and team prizes also offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
