Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon 2026
The event takes place on 18 October 2026 in Bamburgh, NE69 7DF. The distance is Half-Marathon on closed roads. The course is a loop between Bamburgh and North Sunderland, described as undulating with many flat sections and views toward the Farne Islands, Holy Island and the North Sea. Bamburgh Castle forms a backdrop to parts of the route. The minimum age to enter is 17 and entries are limited to 1,200. Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport.
Practical information and prizes
Entry fees vary by affiliation and date: early prices are £24 (affiliated) and £26 (unaffiliated) until 1 December 2025; from 1 December prices increase to £30 and £32. Entries close on 1 December 2025. Race HQ and registration are at Links Car Park, Bamburgh. On the day there will be bag drop, toilets, changing facilities, parking and first aid. Water stations are provided approximately every 3 miles and distance markers appear every mile. Finishers receive a medal and a t-shirt. Prizes include the first three men and women, first in veteran categories (Men 40+ and Women 35+), and first male and female teams (three to count, club vest required).
