Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon in Bamburgh
The Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon takes place in Bamburgh on 18 October 2026. The event is a Half-Marathon held on closed roads, run on tarmac through north Northumberland countryside with Bamburgh Castle as a backdrop.
The course is a loop between Bamburgh and North Sunderland. The profile is slightly undulating with many flat sections and offers views toward the Farne Islands, Holy Island and the North Sea. The event is traffic free on closed roads and uses chip timing provided by Timing4Sport. Official finishing positions are determined by gun time; chip times are provided for personal use.
Entry details include an entries limit of 1200 and a minimum age of 17. Early bird fees end 1 December 2025 with reduced rates; standard entry fees are £30 for affiliated entrants and £32 for unaffiliated entrants. Entries close on 10 October 2026 and entries on the day are not guaranteed.
On race day the race HQ is at Links Car Park NE69 7DF and offers registration, bag drop, toilets, changing facilities, parking and first aid. Water stations are provided approximately every 3 miles and distance markers are placed every mile. Finishers receive a medal and a t shirt. Individual and team prizes are awarded, including overall and veteran category awards, and the event is run under UK Athletics rules.
