19th New Years Day Prediction Run 5k
The 19th New Years Day Prediction Run 5k is a community 5K run/walk at the YMCA of Coastal Carolina in Myrtle Beach, SC (5000 Claire Chapin Epps Dr). The event uses a prediction format in which each participant states a finishing time before starting.
The race winner is the participant whose actual finishing time is closest to their predicted time. Watches, GPS devices, and Garmins are not allowed during the attempt. Organizers describe the event as an equal opportunity race where everyone has the same chance to win based on prediction accuracy.
Entry may be paid with a $25 fee or by donating $25 worth of non-perishable food items; the coupon code Fooddonation25 applies to the food option. The fee is collected when participants pick up their race number. All proceeds benefit the Buck Creek Baptist Church Pantry in Longs, SC.
