A new one-mile event called Rudy's Rainbow Mile honors a late local participant and supports LGBTQ+ youth. This mile race begins and ends on State Street, using the same start and finish area as other Run Madtown races.
The event includes initiatives to reduce financial barriers. The Equity in Motion Scholarship provides full coverage of race registration fees for selected participants, enabling recipients to enter the distance of their choice without paying the registration cost. Finish line amenities include a food area where sample-sized products are distributed to participants. The weekend also highlights wellness programming through THRIVE 365, a series of free monthly wellness challenges that starts with a step challenge themed Stepping Into the New Year.
Overall, Run Madtown combines multiple race distances, community support programs, and wellness activities across a two day event in downtown Madison. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
